التوكل على الله عبادة الصادقين، وسبيل المخلصين، أمر الله تعالى به أنبياءه المرسلين، وأولياءه المؤمنين، قال رب العالمين: (وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى الْحَيِّ الَّذِي لا يَمُوتُ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِهِ وَكَفى بِهِ بِذُنُوبِ عِبادِهِ خَبِير). التوكل على الله هو صدق اعتماد القلب على الله تعالى في استجلاب المصالح ودفع المضار، من أمور الدنيا والآخرة. و المتوكّل على الله هو الّذي يعلم أنّ الله كافِلٌ رزقَه، مدبّرٌ أمرَه، فيركَن إليه وحده، ولا يتوكّل على أحد سواه.
